MAPLE  QUEEN  SCHOLARSHIP  PAGEANT

The Pageant

High School senior girls from across Somerset County compete for $5500.00 in various cash or scholarship awards and for the honor of becoming the Official Ambassador of the PA Maple Festival and the Somerset County Maple Industry.

Contestants for the Queen’s Contest are judged on a personal interview, promenade, talent, and a question and answer session.

More than $190,000 in gifts and scholarships have been awarded to girls competing in the pageant during the past 69 years.

The Maple Queen has duties during the year attending some community events and is present at most of the major Maple Festival events.

A Maple King is also selected during this pageant. Competitors must submit at least nine maple products to be judged from the 12 possible categories.

Tickets for the Pennsylvania Maple Queen Scholarship Pageant event are available at the Festival Office - see Contact & Location page for address, email etc.
